Obama, you crack me up!
Something quick that I have been snickering about in the back of my brain. Obama made a comment about how guns and religion were things that poor folk cling to. I have always thought that was funny since A) he is a democrat, the party of the poor and B) What he does when he gets up and speaks is basically the same thing a preacher does: get in front of folks and tell them what they want to hear in hopes of influencing them.

As to your B) All politicians tell people what they want to hear not just Obama.
Oh, I know. actually he has been less bad about it the HC or JM. But still, it is silly of him to say that poor folk cling to religion when they also cling to his party.
Didn't we have a recent discussion on this blog about poor people and religion?

What's interesting is that a big part of Obama's base is black voters. And as a black person from the South, I feel qualified to say that many of them cling to religion almost full-time. And not just the poor ones.
