Popular vote my arse!

So, these last few elections have stirred up the issue of the electoral college and how it doesn't allow for popular vote to allow the popular candidate to win. And, of course since a Rep won it has been the Dems who were the most upset.

This morning they had a nice thing on NPR about the Democratic nomination process. And how ~30 years ago they changed it so it would be more representative...so that all states had some power in determining who won. This is of course JUST LIKE THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE!!!

Oddly enough, Obama has recieved his nomination largely due to this representative election process. See, Hillary put most of her stock in big, highly populated states (and states Obama didn't run in). Obama courted the little states...the ones who would mean absolutely nothing if the process was purely 'popular'.

Mind you, I'm not knocking it. I fully support this. Without a process like this, 80% of the states would get ignored. And those states deserve a voice since this is a Union of states, not one solid country. I just find it funny that the party most complaining about the electoral college is having their new cadidate chosen by the same kind of process :) And I don't hear anyone complaining about it now.

Haven't even heard any Hillary supporters complaining. But that's mostly because they don't really know why they support Hillary over Obama since the only real difference between them is the color of their skin and their gender...and one of them is an evil bitch. I'll let you figure out which one it is.

On the radio this morning, a commentator was talking about how a lot of Hillary's supporters are "bitter" and have to be persuaded to back Obama. At this point, that's just retarded.

If they are doing it to make a point to their party that they disagree with the way things are run...I can get behind that. If they are doing it out of spite, I think they shouldn't be allowed to vote.

From what I've seen they are doing it out of spite. I mean, get over yourself and at least back your party.

I'm actually against backing your party if you don't agree with the candidate. If everyone just votes along party lines then people don't need to even vote. Just sign up for a party and let the party vote for you.

But I agree...spite voting is pretty horrible.
